1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing and utilizing the website, digital research monographs, interactive acoustic calculation tools, and educational publications provided by CONTORTED DA (Org. nr: 937 299 524, Inndalsveien 102, 5063 Bergen, Norway), you acknowledge and agree to be legally bound by these Terms of Service. If you disagree with any portion of these terms, you must discontinue use of this portal.

2. Nature of Services & Educational Purpose

CONTORTED DA operates as an independent Norwegian acoustic research and media consultancy. All content hosted on this domain—including peer-reviewed articles, whitepapers, acoustic modeling algorithms, and room RT60 estimators—is provided exclusively for educational, technical, and informational purposes.

The tools and published data do not constitute guaranteed structural, architectural, or clinical audiological certifications. Physical studio construction or structural modifications should always be validated through on-site physical acoustic measurements by a certified structural engineer.

3. Intellectual Property Rights

All published research papers, mathematical diagrams, website text, interface design elements, branding marks, and proprietary software code are the exclusive intellectual property of CONTORTED DA and are protected under Norwegian Copyright Law (Lov om opphavsrett til åndsverk m.v. / Åndsverkloven) and international intellectual property treaties.

Permitted Academic Use: You are granted a limited, non-exclusive license to read, download, and quote excerpts of our research publications for non-commercial academic research, studio calibration, or educational coursework, provided proper bibliographic citation is given to CONTORTED DA (Bergen, Norway).
Prohibited Commercial Redistribution: You may not mirror, republish, resell, or incorporate whole research monographs or tools into commercial software products without explicit prior written authorization from CONTORTED DA.

4. User Conduct & Prohibited Activities

When accessing our portal, users agree not to:

Deploy automated scrapers, bots, or crawlers that place excessive load on our server infrastructure;
Attempt unauthorized access to our server backend, APIs, or data transmission endpoints;
Submit false, fraudulent, or malicious payloads through the consultation inquiry system;
Misrepresent affiliation with CONTORTED DA or claim false endorsement of third-party hardware products.

5. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable Norwegian law, CONTORTED DA and its partners, researchers, and contributors shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from the use of, or inability to use, our research whitepapers or calculation tools. This includes, without limitation, loss of data, acoustic construction discrepancies, or third-party hardware incompatibilities.

6. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

These Terms of Service shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the substantive laws of the Kingdom of Norway, excluding its conflict-of-law provisions. Any dispute, controversy, or claim arising out of or relating to these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Bergen District Court (Bergen tingrett), Norway.

7. Amendments to Terms

CONTORTED DA reserves the right to amend these Terms of Service periodically to reflect changes in regulatory standards or research operations. Continued access to the website following the posting of amended terms signifies full acceptance.
